Privacy — Bevel

The short version: Bevel collects nothing.

This policy covers the Android app Bevel (package me.zone7.bevel), published on Google Play by Zone7 Studios.

What Bevel collects

• No personal data. Bevel has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and nothing tracked. It never asks for a runtime permission.
• Your settings stay on your device. Preferences — chosen skin, sounds, units, calibration — are stored only in the app's local storage and never leave your device. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

Sensors

Bevel's tools read your phone's built-in sensors — the accelerometer for the level, plumb and protractor; the magnetometer for the compass and metal detector; the light and pressure sensors for the light meter and altimeter — and the camera flash for the torch. All of this happens entirely on your device, in the moment. Nothing from the sensors is recorded, stored or sent anywhere. Which sensors your phone has determines which tools work; Bevel shows this on each tool with a ✓ or ✗.

Network use

Bevel works offline — everything ships inside the app. The only time Bevel touches the network is Google Play's billing for the one-time purchase.

• Purchases. The optional Bevel Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Google Play's billing system. Payment details go to Google, not to us; Bevel only learns whether the purchase is owned. Google's handling of that transaction is covered by Google's privacy policy.

Permissions

Bevel never shows you a runtime permission prompt — the kind Android raises mid-use to ask for your camera, microphone, location, contacts or files. Bevel asks for none of those.

Google Play's store listing has a separate section headed “This app has access to”. That lists install-time entries declared in the app's manifest: they are granted when the app is installed and never prompt you. In Play's own wording, Bevel's are:

• Full network access and view network connections — used to reach Google Play's billing service.
• Google Play licence check — how Google Play tells the app whether your one-time Pro unlock is owned. That conversation is between your device and Google; we run no server of our own and receive nothing.
• Other — an app-private entry that Android's own support libraries add so that only Bevel can reach Bevel's internal components. It is a hardening measure, and grants no access to your device or your data.

None of these read, collect or transmit anything personal.

Data sharing

Bevel collects no data, so there is nothing to share or sell — with anyone, ever.
